Don Friske for Wisconsin State Assembly
Don's Campaign Issues
I learned the value of hard work cutting pulpwood with my father. I understand that
the future of our community depends on the growth of our local economy and industries.
That's why I worked in a bipartisan fashion to pass the Jobs Creation Act, which greatly
reduced government red-tape and made job creation and retention easier in Wisconsin
Affordable Health Care
As a small business owner, I know the importance of affordable health care. That's
why I voted for BadgerCare Plus, ensuring all children in Wisconsin will be
able to get the health care they need at a price their families can afford.
I have always made quality health care for seniors a top priority. That's why I co-authored
SeniorCare, which provides affordable prescription medicine to our seniors.
Thanks to legislation I worked on, seniors living on Social Security will no longer
have to pay State income on that income. This law will allow our seniors to keep more
than $99 millioon of their money this year alone!
As a father of three, I understand the importance of quality education. That's
why I voted to increase funding for rural school districts by an additional $3.6 million.
I also voted to increase funding for gifted and talented programs and special education;
to keep smaller class sizes; and to increase State aid by $524.8 million.
